With the temperature in Texas finally starting to come down from 100 degrees, it’s about to be prime time for dog park adventures! It’s no secret we have plenty of dog lovers at Heritage Texas Properties so we have a few people to recommend dog parks across Texas. Enjoy!

Danny Jackson Family Dog Park
4828 1/2 Loop Central Dr

At Danny Jackson, there might not be a lot of shade from trees but it isn’t a bother. Dogs large and small enjoy cooling off in the two refreshing ponds available for play time and there is plenty of room for dogs to chase each other around. Numerous benches and doggie bag stations line the park’s trail and a gazeebo structure by the pond allows owners to relax and watch dogs socialize. Though it may not be the fanciest, this park is one of the liveliest so you can be sure your dog will get their exercise.

Barky Park [Seguin]
River Dr W

Two acres of off-leash fun located out West is our choice of park for Seguin! Plenty of ancient pecan trees cool off the grassy play area with concrete benches spread throughout. Barky Park is also known for its birds flitting from tree to tree give it a picturesque feel. It’s located at the entrance to Max Starke Park, where you’ll find picnic areas, a playground, and Frisbee gold course.

Congressman Bill Archer Park
3201 State Highway 6 North

This park has it all; a big pond, an agility course, showers for your dog, and a trail to stretch your legs! Congressman Bill Archer Park sits on over 20 acres of very well maintained grounds. Your dog may get muddy but with these outstanding facilities you will be fine. Just don’t be surprised if your furry friend never wants to leave.

Lindale Park [Galveston]
400 Marine Dr

Lindale is a fairly large dog park that welcomes dogs of all sizes, from Great Danes to Chihuahuas. When you visit, be sure to take advantage of the basket of dog toys near the tennis court. This is a park with a wonderful community feeling where it isn’t unusual to get to know everyone and their dogs.

Millie Bush Dog Park
16101 Westheimer Parkway

Tucked away in George Bush Park, lies the gem that is Millie Bush Dog Park. With a vast space for high-speed chases, water play areas, and several shaded benches, owners can sit and enjoy the races without melting from the heat. Things can get a little muddy so bring a towel and some shampoo for when you hit the wash stations.
