Parkway
Villages, a development begun by Sueba in the early 90s, is a cluster
of gated enclaves just south of Buffalo Bayou. Situated
on about 200 acres between Eldridge Parkway and Highway 6, Parkway
Villages offers the amenities of a master-planned community while fostering
a sense of intimacy through its small gated areas the Villages.
Houston's best homebuilders are represented here. From patio homes
to lavish estates, all homes are elegant, and visitors delight in
their architectural pleasures: majestic porticos, covered verandas,
libraries, wine cellars.
At the upper end of the price spectrum
are Lakes of Parkway and Enclave Lake. Lakes of Parkway, a Kickerillo
development, is a gated
community of luxury homes boasting nine lakes, a recreation center
with a pool and tennis courts, and 24-hour on-site security. Homes
range in style from patio and villa to luxury single-family homes
and large custom estates priced at $2,000,000 and above. Enclave
Lake is a small gated area of 54 custom estate homes surrounding
a lake with a beautiful 18-foot waterfall. These exquisite homes
were built by some of Houston's finest builders, including Bayou
Bend, Carmichael & Dame, Creative Castles, and Period Classics.
On a slightly less grand scale, there
are many other impressive choices, including the gated communities
of Maplewood Park, a community
of 46 home sites, and Laguna Springs, an intimate 17-home enclave.
There are also the popular Village Builder patio home developments
of The Retreat and The Courts, offering luxurious, low-maintenance
living on a more compact scale.
Equally as distinctive is the Trendmaker community of Tracewood
Park and the enclaves of Charlton Park and Sienna Cove, featuring
homes built by D.R. Horton. Madera Vista, Briarstone Park, and Parkway
Estates offer yet more choices in style, price and fine amenities.
The children of Parkway Villages attend
the highly sought after westside schools of Houston Independent School
District. The elementary school
is Barbara Bush Elementary, and older children attend Westside High
School. West Briar Middle School is scheduled to open fall of 2002.
It's easy to understand the popularity of the community. Terry Hershey
Park borders the area to the north-so close, many residents couldn't
imagine a sunny day without the popular park's eight picturesque
miles of hiking, biking, and jogging trails. The area also enjoys
a close proximity to Lakeside and Royal Oaks country clubs, West
Oaks Mall and Town and Country Shopping Village, and is bordered
to the south by Westheimer Road, Houston's principle axis of world-class
dining and shopping.
This quality development combines an appealing location and the
conveniences of Houston's west side with the exacting architectural
standards and luxurious construction of its homes, making Parkway
Villages a top choice for many Houston families. |
