A licensed Realtor since 1979, and a Broker since 1986, Karen McMillan’s list of accomplishments and awards is long and impressive and her dedication to her industry and her community laudable. She has served as President of the Seguin Board of Realtors twice – in 1998 and again in 2009, received the Texas Monthly 5-Star Professional Award in 2013, 2014, and 2015, and is a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors. Karen has earned professional designations as a Graduate, Realtor® Institute (GRI), Council of Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB®), and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS®), and has received Referral & Relocation Certification.
Added to that, she has served on the Seguin City Planning & Zoning Commission (1983-1997), is a former Board Member of Seguin State Bank, the Guadalupe County Chamber of Commerce, and Guadalupe County United Way. She is currently on the Board of Directors of F.O.L.M. (Friends of Lake McQueeney), the Lake Ridge HOA, and the Guadalupe Regional Medical Foundation, and is a member of the Shakespeare Literary Club.
Trustworthy, honest, knowledgeable, and hardworking, Karen considers herself “On Call” 24/7 when it comes to serving her clients, and her persistence, determination and care are ever-present. That she defines herself by the results she gets is evident in her slogan “It’s the SOLD sign that counts!”
After building her own brokerage for 10 years, in 2014, she decided to join forces with Heritage Texas Properties, a move that allowed her to dedicate even more time toward putting clients first and delivering the quality service they deserved and had come to expect. Moreover, she saw it as an opportunity to provide her agents at Karen McMillan Realtors with enhanced resources, state-of-the-art tools and technology, and greatly expanded marketing and advertising – benefitting both them and the company’s clientele.
Considered waterfront savvy by both her clients and her peers, she certainly knows the areas and is knowledgeable about the available product in which she lists and sells which includes not only Seguin but Lake McQueeney, Lake Placid, New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. Having been a former classroom teacher (she’s a proud graduate of the University of Texas, “Horns Up”, with a B.S.Ed, and an M.Ed, from Stephen F. Austin), Karen is an excellent negotiator and excels at educating her clients about every facet of their real estate transaction.
