Native Houstonian Kathy Overstreet Baty, a
licensed Realtor since 1985, has lived in Houston all of her life and knows the city’s traditional neighborhoods – especially Memorial and the Memorial Villages where she grew up and now lives again with her husband and children for the last 14 years.
Prior to finding her career in residential real estate, Kathy sold women’s clothing, helped people remodel and redesign their homes and worked as a travel agent – all sales-oriented positions with a common theme: making people feel good about themselves and their environment, and expanding their horizons. But Kathy hails from a builder/developer family, so real estate is in her blood and its pull was strong.
“Selling real estate is the perfect fit for me,” says Kathy. “I love being involved with homes – suggesting improvements and staging to gain a higher sales price, guiding buyers to envision what a house could be, and just helping clients feel good and succeed.”
A professional go-getter who is knowledgeable, dedicated, level-headed, and a good-listener, Kathy enjoys working with sellers and buyers in a range of price points and lifestyles. According to Kathy, the best career advice she ever received has served her well, “Always be honest, be passionate, and have patience.”
Kathy believes in staying active within her community. She is a member of the National Charity League and the head of the beautification committee for her subdivision’s Home Owners Association.
Kathy and her husband of more than 28 years have two daughters who attend school in Houston and family time is very important to her. She enjoys traveling, entertaining, home design and remodeling, but her favorite leisure activities are watching her daughters participate in rodeo and golf.
