Wendy Layne Smith, a licensed Realtor since 2006, has a twofold mission: to provide her clients a better customer service experience than she received as a repeat home buyer and to bridge the gap between the real estate needs of millennials and retirees. Because of her deliberate focus on customer satisfaction, she achieves a high rate of referrals and repeat customers. Those accomplishments, in addition to her competence as a tenacious and passionate leader, team builder and negotiator, no doubt led to her top four ranking in the Million Dollars Sales Club.
An Air Force veteran, Wendy's professional career also includes a 23-year commitment to the oil and gas industry in three distinct roles – buyer, project manager, and business development vice president. Due to her considerable experience and extensive education, she is an expert in staging homes to sell, time management, and in all aspects of residential property transactions, including:
• Contract review • Conflict resolution
• Strategic planning • Scientific property value analysis
• Marketing and advertising strategies • New account development
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Wendy has been in Houston since 1982. She is the mother of Irish twins born the same year. Her son, Brenson, proudly serves in the U. S. Army as a military police officer and studies MIS through American University. Her daughter, Reagan, is in the management program at Texas State University.
In her spare time, Wendy is involved with the Wounded Warrior Project and cycling fundraising for wounded vets who need help purchasing bicycles. She serves as an ambassador for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Houston and has helped raise money to help cure the disease through cycling for the BP MS150 since 2008. As a Women's Council of REALTORS committee member, she has obtained sponsorships for annual marketing campaigns and as vice president, has secured VIP guests speakers such as Senator Ted Poe. Additionally, Wendy volunteers for numerous charities and events including the Wyman-Gordon Annual Golf Tournament, HAR and TREPAC Bowl-A-Thon, Texas Children's Miracle Network, and the Epilepsy Foundation. She enjoys cycling, hiking, motorcycling, soccer, and anything outdoors.
