Midtown

Location is Midtown’s chief asset. Midtown refers to neighborhoods of homes and businesses south and west of downtown, east of Montrose Boulevard, and north of Interstate 59, directly between Downtown and the Texas Medical Center. Midtown is also home to one of the area’s most historic neighborhood – the old Fourth Ward, also known as Freedmen’s Town.

In 1994, Midtown became a Tax Increment Finance District (TIFC), opening the area to renovation and development.
